RESOLUCION N° 225/00 SENASA
BUENOS AIRES, 24 de marzo de 2000.
VISTO el expediente N° 18253/99 del registro del SERVICIO NACIONAL DE SANIDAD Y CALIDAD
AGROALIMENTARIA, y
CONSIDERANDO:
Que la Dirección de Laboratorios y Control Técnico del SERVICIO NACIONAL DE SANIDAD Y CALIDAD
AGROALIMENTARIA, a través del Laboratorio Regional Mar del Plata ha informado la presencia de una
discoloración del agua de mar o marea roja en el área comprendida entre 41° 24,5' de latitud sur y 60° 22,5'
de longitud oeste.
Que las muestras de mejillón tomadas en la zona dieron como resultado NOVECIENTOS SESENTA
UNIDAD RATON cada CIEN gramos de pulpa (960 UR/100 gr.), o su equivalente en saxitoxina de CIENTO
OCHENTA Y DOS CON CUATRO (182,4) microgramos cada CIEN (100) gramos de pulpa, lo cual indica
una concentración elevada de toxinas.
Que asimismo se ha constatado, en otras oportunidades, casos de intoxicación humana a través de la
ingesta de moluscos bivalvos contaminados con esta toxina, razón por la cual se deben adoptar
urgentemente las medidas preventivas que resulten necesarias a fin de evitar riesgos para la salud humana.
Que la Dirección de Asuntos Jurídicos ha tomado intervención que le compete, no encontrando reparos de
orden legal que formular.
Que el suscripto es competente para dictar el presente acto en virtud de las facultades conferidas por el
artículo 8°, inciso m) del Decreto N° 1585 del 19 de diciembre de 1996.
Por ello
EL PRESIDENTE DEL SERVICIO NACIONAL DE SANIDAD Y CALIDAD AGROALIMENTARIA
RESUELVE:
ARTICULO 1°.- Ratificar la veda preventiva dispuesta por la Dirección Nacional de Fiscalización
Agroalimentaria del SERVICIO NACIONAL DE SANIDAD Y CALIDAD AGROALIMENTARIA, de fecha 17 de
diciembre de 1999, para la captura y comercialización de moluscos bivalvos y gasterópodos en el área
comprendida entre las latitudes 40° y 43° de latitud sur y 58° y 63° de longitud oeste, quedando exenta la
captura de vieiras para la producción de callos, hasta tanto se determine la evolución del fenómeno "marea
roja".
ARTICULO 2°.- Recomendar a la población que se abstenga de recolectar moluscos bivalvos y
gasterópodos por su propia cuenta y que consuma sólo aquellos productos que se comercialicen con el
previo análisis y autorización de funcionarios competentes en la materia.
ARTICULO 3°.- La presente medida entrará en vigencia a partir de la fecha de su publicación en el Boletín
Oficial.
ARTICULO 4°.- Comuníquese, publíquese, dése a la Dirección Nacional del Registro Oficial y archívese.
